CHRIST - AN INTERVIEW WITH THE WOMAN BEHIND THE DECORATION SCENES OF THE BUSINESS
For over 40 years, CHRIST has stood for excellent quality and the best service in watches and jewelry. With over 60 stores and a comprehensive and constantly expanding range, Christ has grown to become the largest jewelry chain in Switzerland.
Already for the second time Displaysolutions was allowed to support the company Christ with the realization of high-quality, individually manufactured decoration articles, which are produced in large numbers by Displaysolutions.
Mrs. Myriam Maier, head of the decoration and merchandising department at Christ, is responsible for the ideas and the decorative implementation of the window and store design of the Christ stores and kindly allows Displaysolutions a look behind the scenes.
We would like to show you how a decorative article is created from the idea to the sketch to the product.

Hello Ms. Mayer, we are very pleased that you have taken the time to give us an insight into Christ's creative studio and your creative process, we will get straight to the first question:
How and where do you get inspiration for your decor and visual merchandising design?

On the one hand, I look at the fashion and design trends. I also take inspiration from magazines, art objects, nature, fairs, etc.. On the other hand, I give free rein to my creativity to build a storytelling and implement it in the respective project.

Do the seasonal decoration articles usually arise from a story which you then stage in the Christ showcases? I've noticed that the decorative items that Christ produces itself always have a certain theme as a basis.

I always try to create a story or theme around our jewelry novelties. The theme is based on customer needs and seasonality.

How important is the customization of decorative items for you? Do your customers understand that the articles you produce are "customized" and individual? How do you communicate that?

The first thing our branches have to do is immerse themselves in the story. To do this, we do a workshop to present the concept internally. Only then can the Christ employees convey the idea to the customers together with the jewelry.

Some of the items on display are passed on to customers, how did you come up with this idea?

The idea came from our customers who wanted to buy the decoration to the jewelry.

How often are the decorative items replaced?

Two to three times a year in connection with our magazine.

The materials you have chosen for the decorative items have always been made by us from high quality materials (metal) until now. How important are high quality materials for your designs?

We are in the luxury industry, so the decoration, our appearance and furnishings must also be high-end.

Now we come to "Robi". As I have the prehistory in my head, there is also a history to "Robi" besides three versions? How did "Robi" come into being?

Letzter Winter waren die Trends stark an den 80 Jahren orientiert. Erste Computer, alte Fernseher, “Starwars” Film. So entstand die Idee von Robi.

You have decided to cooperate with Displaysolutions for the second time and have decorative items produced. How did you find us? Was Displaysolutions recommended to you?

I was contacted directly by Displaysolutions. Displaysolutions' reference projects looked very promising.

How was the cooperation with us? Would you recommend Displaysolutions to others? What convinced you in particular?

The collaboration was great. My ideas were implemented exactly as I wanted the final product. I am impressed with the quality and would recommend Displaysolutions to other companies.

Since it is important to us at Displaysolutions to get honest feedback from our customers and we are always striving to improve; were there any incidents in the project execution where you had different expectations from us?

There were no incidents and I am very satisfied regarding the process of the projects with Displaysolutions.

Ich versuche immer eine Geschichte oder ein Thema rund um unsere Schmuck-Neuheiten zu kreieren. Das Thema richtet sich den Kundenbedürfnissen- und an der Saisonalität aus.
